Naomi

Naomi is an American Indian pattern. Hope Camp of Albuquerque, New Mexico is an expert on Indian design, and has many beautiful rug patterns from our nation's earliest settlers. How could I compete with someone so adept on this subject? The library was my best source of information.
This pattern is a combination of designs from an Indian blanket and an Indian rug. The center
motif is taken from an Indian Chief's blanket made in the 1840s. The border, which resembles the Greek Key design, was taken from a rug pattern also made in the 1800s. The Navajo Indians were very accepting of foreign design. I am assuming this border was introduced to them during this period.
