Duchess is a Persian pattern I designed for Claire Taylor. She was very kind to let me use it as a pattern for the Rugger's Roundtable. It is very beautiful. Notice that the center background is continued into the border at the corner motifs. This is very effective. Also, the leaves in the center motif form a circle enclosing the three large flowers. Claire's rug is outstanding; I dyed her choice of colors.

This pattern can be worked in solid colors and outlined in a dark color as in most Persian rug patterns, or it can be hooked with swatches and/or dip-dye for shading the flowers, leaves and scrolls.
